School holidays are already hard enough for parents to navigate – juggling work, childcare, last-minute changes, illnesses, and the curveballs that modern family life inevitably throws up. The last thing parents need is to feel caught out by rigid policies, confusing insurance add-ons, or a business hiding behind small print.
So we made a clear decision: simpler, fairer, and more human.
No “Cancellation Insurance” – and Here’s Why
You’ll never see us offering those so-called cancellation insurance policies that many holiday camps push at checkout.
Why?
Because we don’t believe parents should have to pay extra to be treated fairly.
You’re not booking a luxury break or a discretionary extra – you’re booking essential childcare. Life happens. Plans change. Children get ill. Work shifts move. We understand that because many of us are parents ourselves.
Our Cancellation Policy (Clear & Simple)
All cancellations must be made in writing and are subject to the following:
-
Up to 24 hours before the start date
A full credit will be issued, valid for 12 months, for future Club Excel courses. -
Within 24 hours of the start date
Unfortunately, no credits or refunds can be issued.
👉 Extra flexibility:
We say 24 hours, but if you let us know by midday the day before, we’ll provide a full credit.
Why We Offer Credits Instead of Refunds
When a booking is made, we incur non-recoverable card processing fees. These vary depending on the payment method used, and importantly, they are not returned to us when a payment is refunded.
If we were to issue cash refunds, we would:
-
Pay a percentage card fee when the booking is made
-
Pay another percentage fee when a refund is processed
This means refunding a booking would actually cost the business money, even when a place is cancelled well in advance.
Rather than:
-
Passing these costs on to families through higher prices
-
Adding cancellation insurance
-
Or tightening our Terms & Conditions
we’ve chosen a simpler and fairer approach: full credits.
Childcare Should Feel Supportive – Not Stressful
Running high-quality holiday camps means careful staffing, safeguarding, and planning, but we believe it’s possible to balance this without penalising families unfairly.
School holidays are tough enough.
Childcare shouldn’t make them harder.
If you ever have a question or a tricky situation, please talk to us – we’ll always do our best to help.
